Maxwel Chikumbutso – The young man from Kuwadzana whose invention violets laws of physics

Maxwel Chikumbutso

By Tapfuma Machakaire  28/12/2022

IN 2006 two associations of university teachers in Britain held a conference under the theme Africa’s Brain Drain: Britain’s gain – Africa’s pain?

The conference was prompted, partly by statistics from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa which indicated that between 1985 and 1990 Africa had lost 60 000 professionals to developed countries. These included doctors, university lecturers and engineers.

The lecturers could have missed the fact that Africa was equally losing non-academic talented personnel who had the potential to turn around the fortunes of their continent. Among such non-academic talented personnel was one Maxwell Chikumbutso, a serial inventor who now lives in California in the USA.

In November 2018 Maravi Postpublished a story with the headline USA snatches top Zimbabwean inventor Maxwell Chikumbutso. In the article Chikumbutso, the founder of Saith Technologies is quoted saying, “Africa did not see what the US Government saw in my ground breaking inventions.”

Maxwell is a self-taught engineer who dropped out of school at the age of 14 in the high density suburb of Kuwadzana in Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare. He never attended any technical college or university.

Chikumbutso is the man who developed green energy technology which converts radio frequencies directly into clean and renewable energy. It is said his invention could not be patented as it violates the laws of physics.

Born on November 10, 1980 Sangulani Maxwell Chikumbutso is the son of Andrew and Susan Chikumbutso. He grew up with his three siblings under the care of their mother after the father, who was an electrician abandoned the family. Maxwell attended Haig Primary School in Kuwadzana and later moved to Kuwadzana 5 Primary School. He went to Dzivarasekwa 2 High School where he dropped out after form two. His education was sponsored by the Government through the Department of Social Welfare.

A devout Christian, Maxwell says in September 1997, while praying on a mountain he received the scripture in Isaiah 46 from where the name Saith Technologies originates. “Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One…”

At the age of 17, while in Kuwadzana, Maxwell had started experimenting with various technologies. This saw him being profiled on a science and technology programme on Zimbabwe television ZTV as a prominent young man in the innovation industry. He then developed the first Green Power Prototype generator which produces 100 percent clean consumable energy using Radio Frequencies.

In 1999, Maxwell built a Radio broadcast transmitter which made the headlines on ZTV news. The project fell away due to lack of funding.

In 2001, under the mentorship of Rose Mazula, then Broadcasting Association of Zimbabwe Chairperson, he developed what he named the Digital Navigation Facilitator which is used to facilitate landing of aircraft from variables that include the size of the aircraft, its position in altitude, speed and other factors.

He took his gadget to Air Zimbabwe Technical Training Centre where it was assessed and commended by aircraft engineers. The gadget became the first modification to Zimbabwean aircraft technology since 1980.

Maxwell took the invention to Air Force of Zimbabwe where it was assessed by the technical team which confirmed that it works. However, due to lack of financial support the project fell away.

A few years later, Maxwell met Bruce Mujeyi a lawyer who tried to help him with patent registration. Mujeyi ended up providing free service and financial support to Maxwell.

Maxwell secured a job as a truck driver with the intention of raising income for his next project of developing a self-powered generator. In 2009 he produced the first prototype of the Greener generator which generated 1,200 Watts.

During that same year Maxwell turned down a USD1.2 million offer from the Government of Lesotho which had invited him to make a presentation on his project. This was after he met Zach Wazara, former Econet CEO and founder of Brodacom. The two formed a partnership to build a telecommunications company. Under the arrangement Maxwell invented the first WiFi meshing technology in Zimbabwe with self-organising base stations. Also under the same partnership, the second Greener power prototype was developed which generated 50 Kilowatts.

In 2007 Maxwell says he failed to find an attorney who could file a patent for the Greener Power prototypeas they said it violated the present day natural laws of physics.

“Instead, patent examiners proposed classifying it as a perpetual motion device,” said Maxwell. He said a leading law firm in the UK which was supposed to deploy a team to inspect a bigger prototype that he had developed could not come due to financial challenges that he and his partner were facing. Maxwell, however went on to build three machines that successfully powered his mother’s house in Kuwadzana.

While attempting to clinch a deal in South Africa, Maxwell met Angolan born pastor and businessman Dr Teddy De Almeida who owns one of the biggest energy companies in Angola under the Bongani Group. Almeida was impressed with Maxwell’s vision and donated over USD500, 000 as seed money for his projects. Maxwell later invited Dr Almeida to take up equity of the Greener Machine that he developed after receiving the donation.

With the technology Maxwell produced the first electric car vehicle that converts radio frequencies into energy and does not require to be recharged as it generates power through perpetual motion.

He has also developed, among others, a helicopter that runs on six different types of fuel.

Maxwell has clinched huge deals for his products in various parts of the world through the development of hybrid engine-powered helicopter, electric cars, magnetic converters, green power generators and drones.

At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic Maxwell developed an automated disinfecting machine.

Maxwell is among the free energy scientists whose life is under threat from unknown individuals. On May 7, 2021, the Herald reported that Maxwell was in a hospital intensive care unit after falling ill from suspected poisoning that his company believed was linked to his wireless energy transmission innovation activity.

The story said this was the third attempt on the life of Maxwell “The battle that we are involved in is real but we relentlessly keep on fighting. There is information out there that there are some horrible people who are always working trying to destroy us.” said a company spokesperson on a Facebook post.

“We have received threats that range from death, financial and personal ruin through emails, Facebook Messenger and other social media platforms,” the statement read.

It was observed in the article that a number of free energy access scientists had been killed or poisoned across the world in schemes widely believed to be led by the oil and solar technology energy industry mafia which wants to continue dominating the lucrative deals and business in their industries.

The vision of Saith Technologies is “to be the world’s leading company offering innovative, user friendly industrial and consumer solutions, whilst striving for technical leadership. We are committed to inspire the world by developing ground-breaking technologies, innovative products and creative solutions that will add value and satisfy consumer needs.”

Maxwell says “I always love Africa and I’m so proud of being born and raised in Africa. I will surely come back to Zimbabwe where everything started.”
